U.S. OPEN TENNIS
Serena Williams didn’t fare well at the Olympics but she is still progressing well at the U.S. Open. Venus Williams got a silver medal in Rio de Janeiro, but she is having to put up quite a fight at the U.S. Open. We’ll see if either of the sisters get to add more to their trophy collection!
While many sports have been plagued with doping scandals, Austrailian’s Nick Kyrgios informed his Twitter followers that ATP Tour players are allowed to smoke marijuana.

PARALYMPICS
Speaking of drugs and doping…Russia has lost an appeal fighting their teams ban from the upcoming Paralympic games in Rio. Their entire Track & Field team was banned from the Rio 2016 Olympic games that just concluded, but now their entire Paralympic team is banned.
