Poor Sportsmanship Award
Russia’s National Hockey Team lost to Canada in the International Hockey Federation’s World Championship. Proper etiquette requires the losing team to stay on the ice during the winning team’s National Anthem, but Russia decided to leave the ice early. The IIHF has fined Russia’s National Team 85,000 Swiss Francs (just over $90,000 USD)!

Almost a Winner
Team USA’s Molly Huddle started celebrating winning her first major medal before crossing the finish line at the World Athletics Championship in Beijing. Huddle’s celebration slowed her speed and her teammate, Emily Infield, bumped her out of third place in the 10,000 meter race. Infield beat Huddle by .09 seconds!
