There has been debate over whether or not the water in Rio De Janeiro is a health hazard for the athletes.

Despite concerns, about water contamination, Test Events for Water Sports started this week, with Team USA’s Gwen Jorgensen winning the Triathlon and securing a spot to Rio 2016.

FINA World Championships
The international governing body of swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and open water swimming is putting on their World Championships in Kazan, Russia right now. This competition is also a qualifier for Rio 2016!
Russian Basketball
Russia’s Basketball Team is hoping to get some “confusion” cleared up so they can compete to qualify for Rio 2016. Ready more about their current ban by FIBA here.
