The Nach On Sports 2015 NFL Mock Draft
#1 Tampa- QB Jamies Winston FSU
Marcus Mariotta could still be the pick here, but all signs point to Winston. Lovie Smith is cool with him and Mariotta has impressed in meetings and drew comparisons to Peyton Manning in terms of football IQ. I am still not sold, but I think Tampa is going to take Winston.
#2 Tennessee- WR Kevin White West Virginia
I think Tennessee is going to give Zac Mettenberger a chance to succeed, but Mariotta could go here. I think Tennessee wants to give Mettenberger as much ammo as possible and Kevin White can be that guy.
#3 Jacksonville- DE Dante Fowler Jr Florida
This guy has a high motor and is a huge disruption in both the running and passing game. Jacksonville has had this kid playing in their backyard, so they have seen quite a bit of him. The fans will love him and I think he will give Jacksonville a dominant edge rusher.
#4 Oakland- WR Amari Cooper Ala
Oakland doesn’t get a shot at Kevin White, but they know they need to help Derek Carr out with some weapons and Cooper is still a very good player. He can stretch the field and give Oakland a go to WR for their young QB.
#5 Washington- DL Leonard Williams USC
It’s amazing this guy is still on the board at pick 5, but he is, Williams is a dominant presence and will make his presence known day 1. I think Washington will help it’s defense that was so porous. New DC Joe Barry will likely run a 4-3 defense, but with Williams versatility he can use him in variety of ways along the front four.
#6 NYJ- CB Tra Wayne’s Mich St
I think the Jets pass up on QB. I believe new HC Todd Bowles will take a big physical corner. When he was in Arizona he had great corner play. Wayne’s size and physical play will help shut down WR’s in the AFC East.
#7 Chicago- DE Shane Ray Mizzou
I like Chicago taking the Mizzou product and Ray is a force off the edge. He upgrades the defensive line greatly and with Jared Allen still on the team, Allen can mentor this young man. Ray has a chance to be the next ferocious sack master.
#8 Falcons- LB Vic Beasley Clemson
I know Atlanta needs a pass rusher and new HC Dan Quinn knows this as well, but Vic Beasley is a tackling machine. He can play sideline to sideline and get after the QB. I like Atlanta improving its LB corps, which hasn’t been good since the days of Keith Brooking.
#9 NYG- DE Randy Gregory Nebraska
I think Gregory falls due to the concerns he had at the combine. With the possibility of losing JPP, the G-men take Gregory and hopefully can turn him into another fearsome pass rusher for big blue.
#10 St. Louis- OL Brandon Scherff Iowa
They went offensive line last year and I think they do same again with this pick. If they are committed to Bradford and I think they are, they need to protect him and Scherff will help keep Bradford upright.
#11 Minnesota- DL Danny Shelton Washington
Zimmerman wants to improve his defense and with this big man he does that 10 fold. Shelton will help get after the QB and plug up holes in the run game for the Vikings.
#12 Cleveland- QB Marcus Mariotta Oregon
The QBs coach worked with him during the offseason and I think Mariotta falls similarly like Rodgers. Cleveland deals Manziel and Gordon away and know they have a QB that will stay out of the headlines.
#13 New Orleans- CB Marcus Peters Washington
The defense for the saints was atrocious and the secondary was burned early and often. Peters brings a physical presence to the secondary.
#14 Miami- WR Devonte Parker Louisville
With the Dolphins likely to trade or release Wallace they need to give Tannehill a new weapon. Parker helps give the Dolphins a big target.
#15 San Francisco- OL Erick Flowers Miami
With the possibility of a hole on the OL, I think Flowers is the pick here. SF will still want to pound the ball with Hyde and protect Capernick as well.
#16 Houston- S Landon Collins Ala
#17 Chargers- LB Erick Kendrick’s UCLA
#18 Chiefs- WR Jalen Strong Ari St
#19 Browns- LB Alvin Dupree Kentucky
#20 Eagles- CB Byron Jones UConn
#21 Cincinnati- CB Kevin Johnson Wake Forrest
#22 Pittsburgh- DT Malcolm Brown Texas
#23 Detroit- DT Eddie Goldman FSU
#24 Arizona- RB Melvin Gordon Wisconsin
#25 Carolina- OT TJ Clemmings Pittsburgh
#26 Baltimore- OT Andrus Peat Stanford
#27 Denver- DT Jordan Phillips Oklahoma
#28 Dallas- DE Arik Armstead Oregon
#29 Indianapolis- WR Dorian Green Beckham Oklahoma
#30 Green Bay- LB Benadrick McKinney Miss St
#31 Seattle- RB Todd Gurley Georgia
#32 New England- LB Shaq Thompson Washington
